Low string to high string

A cent is one hundredth of a semitone. A reading near 0 cents is in tune. A negative number is flat, so tighten the string slightly. A positive number is sharp, so loosen it slightly. For normal playing, staying within about five cents is an excellent result.
Switch to Bass for standard E-A-D-G tuning, Ukulele for re-entrant G-C-E-A tuning, or Chromatic to identify any note. The concert-pitch control also supports ensembles that tune somewhere other than A4 = 440 Hz.
Choose Guitar, start the microphone, then pluck one open string at a time. Adjust the matching tuning peg until the needle is centered and the reading says In tune.
From the lowest, thickest string to the highest, thinnest string, standard guitar tuning is E2, A2, D3, G3, B3 and E4.
Background noise and vibrating neighboring strings can confuse any microphone tuner. Move closer to the microphone, play one string clearly, and gently mute the strings you are not tuning.
